Tree stump removal areas covered

As we are fully mobile and cover Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Peak District we are near you! If a job is urgent we can respond quickly, but by working through jobs in set areas it makes each job cheaper for the client. This is the option most people choose, especially as tree work is usually carried out on a schedule. We can book your job in with others in the area, use less fuel and pass on the savings. This is good for us and the environment.

North Yorkshire

This stunning county is host to much beauty in Moors and Dales. Roaming Goat Stump Grinding is often found in this beautiful location. There are many specimen trees including Liriodendron’s in Malton and Giant Sequoia’s at Egton Bridge to name a few.

Tree work is often carried out to remove dead and diseased trees. Then we can grind out the stump and roots to prevent the spread of any disease and the eyesore often left.

An example of this is in the pictures we even had great weather to go with it too.

The East Yorkshire Coast

The wonderfully flat landscape of Holderness clay, with vast arable fields, has many trees and tree planting projects both new and old. Roaming Goat has been privileged to work with custodians of these plantations. To improve the health and beauty of these private and public locations.

Removing tree stumps from areas of frequent foot traffic is good practice for health and safety, while leaving stumps that provide a habitat for insects and fungus in the right areas encourage more diversity in the woodland.

Many gardeners need our services as lockdown taught us all to appreciate and make the most of our outside space. It’s a pleasure to remove ugly and rotten stumps to that gardeners can lay more turf, build that raised bed, put in a path or replant a new tree.

South Yorkshire

We are regulars in Sheffield and it’s surrounding area, with it’s rolling hills and steep streets it’s challenging to access stumps on strange angles. Just as the trees tenaciously hang on and grow tall we find we enjoy a challenge.

Our customers are happy to have us back, as often the projects are staggered for the sake of the wildlife. It’s not unusual to be followed by tame birds looking for worms or grubs as we go!

Lincolnshire

We love going over the Humber Bridge and working in the lovely varied landscape. Often chalky soil and many lovely tree stands both young and mature to work in. We tackle everything from commercial Christmas tree nursery work to enormous stumps left from specimen trees that have been stuck by lightning or become dangerous through rot.

The often inevitable 11foot root plate, serving as a reminder of the loss of such wonderful trees and unusable space, is quickly ground out to enable the owner to move forward in their gardening. Waltham Windmill is a lovely landmark we often work close to.

Hornsea

This lovely seaside town most known for it’s Pottery, Mere and Beach, is popular as a place to visit and move to. It’s growing rapidly and Roaming Goat is often called in to grind out stumps for new housing developments both large and small. We take pride in this work as it’s making a difference to how the projects move forward.

As trees have always been planted in the town we often have to grind out stumps of trees that have grown too big for their location. This often allows for the planting of a more dwarf variety, or fruit tree being planted instead. Including the “Hornsea Herring” a cooking apple from the 18th century.

While we specialise in stump grinding we can undertake re-planting immediately following grinding if arranged by the client.

Hull

What a city of culture! The vast area of the city and surrounding area including Swanland, Cottingham, Anlaby, Willerby, Hessle, North Ferriby, Melton, Welton, Brough, Elloughton, Ellerker, South Cave, North Cave, Dunswell, Coniston and Bilton contain many veteran trees.

There are many areas of established trees thanks to forward thinking philanthropists and factory owners who included trees in their plans for the area.

Roaming Goat enjoys the variety of work we encounter here. The people are down to earth and a pleasure to work along with. The area so flat that accessing stumps is usually straightforward.

Peak District

What a beautiful area rich in history and many gardens designed by Capability Brown! The dry stone walls and many sheep add to the rich charm. The challenge when stump grinding here is the stone often in and around the tree stumps. I’ve yet to go to a site free of boulders or slabs of stone that the walls are built from.

While we work carefully and professionally, smashing teeth on stone and rock is most often experienced here! The job satisfaction is not diminished though and customers very warm and appreciative.
